The GSRS holds meetings quarterly and alternate between a location in Stokes and Rockingham Counties. All meetings are held beginning at 2:30 pm and the board of directors meeting at 1:30 pm. Below is the schedule for the upcoming meetings:

Jan 11th Danbury Public Library - Debbie Brown and Janelle Johnson will speak about the WPA Project Records.

Apr 12th Madison-Mayodan Public Library -Elvin Perkins will speak about the Slave Narratives which were recorded by the WPA.

Jul 12th Danbury Public Library - Larry Cates will be speaking on "Documenting rootless younger men in NC without property: Apprentices, Wanderers, Soldiers and Knaves: Finding Young, Unpropertied Men and Their Connections in the Antebellum and Colonial Periods."

Oct 11th Madison-Mayodan Public Library-
Carole Troxler will be speaking about Alamance and Colonial German immigration.

The Genealogical Fair meetings are held two times a year, once in Stokes and Rockingham Counties. The hours are from 10 am to 3 pm. We ask that everyone bring a covered dish to share for lunch, this way no one has to leave to get lunch.

Our speakers will be Debbie Brown and Jane Wade. Debbie will be speaking on "How to Utilize your DNA Matches." Jane will speak on America 250! Revolutionary War Patriots." Get help from experienced genealogist like Butch Johnson with your research. DAR will have books for sale. One of our tables will be the cemetery maps showing all cemeteries in Stokes and Rockingham Counties. Someone will demonstrate how to use online research sites.
